Kingsbane Broncos

Race:  Chaos Dwarf
Coach:  Watto
Description
The Kingsbane Broncos were one of the first Chaos Dwarf teams accepted into the expanded Normal Super Well Real Footballers League (NSWRFL). They enjoyed great early success and became one of the dominant teams of the league. With the new found dominance and dislike of the trends of the NSWRFL, the Broncos played a significant role in starting the Super League Wars. They now compete in the unified Notional Rugby League (NRL) but play in side leagues like the WAFFL. The Broncos training facility and club house are based beneath Red Hill.

Broncos please the Golden gods
The Kingsbane Broncos have stood on the throat of the Golden 13 in their latest match and not gotten off until the siren sounded, scoring twice, nearly 3 times and causing many casualties along the way.

It started of with a good crowd rolling in and some well known stars being recruited for the Golden 13. They had Skitter Stab-Stab and Headsplitter to help boost the numbers, as well as a Wizard, some extra training, a Bloodweiser Keg and a Bribe.

The Broncos received the first kick and went about making their hits count early, to help set a tone for their intentions in the match. with 4 hits they were able to stun 2 opponents and injure another 2 to give themselves a good advantage.

Collecting the ball shortly after, a Lightning Bolt appeared out of the Dugouts, however missed everything and everyone meaning the Broncos had little else to worry about in their push to score.

Through the rest of the half, the Broncos positioned themselves to try inflict as much hurt as possible, including fouling vigorously, which resulted in a Hobgoblin getting caught, but only once he inflicted a Niggling Injury on Giznat Skaa.

Skitter was an ever present pest though and as the half was drawing to a close, he managed to find a weak spot in the armour of Thrustin Wedges to make him drop the ball. The Broncos however were still in a decent position to vie for the ball, and successfully collected it to score as the siren sounded for half time.

As the second half kicked off, a Quick Snap helped Headsplitter get in range for a Blitz, however he lost himself in his excitement and was put down by his opponent. This opened up the opportunity for the Broncos to collect an unmanned ball and after hurting a number of other Skaven along the way, they scored to give themselves a chance at a 3rd TD.

As they game continued, the Golden 13 valiantly fought on despite being so short on numbers. The Broncos were able to easily overwhelm them though and were soon in possession again and close to scoring.

As the siren was about to sound though, a desperate attempt at 1 more casualty meant that a Broncos player stumbled trying to get a last Blitz in, meaning they were unable to get a 3rd TD.

Next up for the Broncos is their oldest rival coach and his Sunset Sinners.

Broncos walk through Mouth of the Fire
The Kingsbane Broncos have surged in the second half of their latest game against the Fire Mouth Maneaters to continue their unbeaten run this season.

The Maneaters seemed like massive underdogs coming into the match with over 1.25 million GP to spend. And spent it they did, hiring Bob Bifford, a mercenary Ogre, a mercenary Runt Punter, a Halfling Master Chef, a Halfling Hotpot, some infamous coaching staff in Horatio and a Rabble to boost their numbers further. In the end it resulted in the Maneaters have 7 players St5 or over, 21 players in total, 3 fireballs and taking 4 rerolls.

The Broncos fans made the trip in droves and initially would have been disappointed by their team, who seemed to be stuttering in the first half. They could barely punch out of a wet paper bag, let alone break Gnoblar armour and when they had a chance to stop a break away from the Maneaters, tripped over and hardly slowed them at all. They were able to put the pressure on, however they weren't able to stop them scoring.

Then the heavens opened up and the ball seemed to be 2 after a ball clone which seemed to make life near impossible for the out of sorts Broncos who hardly threatened to score as the first half came to an end.

The sky cleared for the second half though and after a stern talk at the break, the Broncos came out determined, with some Endurance Training benefiting them to match numbers.

A Sprinkler Malfunction still wasn't enough to slow down the Broncos, with ball in hand, their confidence rose and they started finally removing Maneaters players from the pitch and managed to score midway through the half, not being content with the idea of a draw.

With the rain falling again late in the game, the Broncos pushed their luck and drove hard downfield to where the ball lay, they got themselves in position to strike and when Bob Bifford failed to dodge clear of a Broncos player, an opening appeared which the Broncos took. As the clock slowly ticked down, the Broncos managed to get a go ahead TD with mere seconds left on the clock.

From the next kick-off, the weather didn't change and the Maneaters got a Quick Snap, however they were more preoccupied with bashing late in the game and unfortunately found the Broncos player better equipped for it, ending any chance of a draw.

Broncos show Lions true pride
The Kingsbane Broncos were again treated to three presence of another star in their latest game against the Chrace Lions, a game in which the Broncos were able to put on their most points of the year to win 3-1.

Despite the Broncos fans outnumbering the Lions fans, it was obvious that they were Friendly Fans and the presence of Johnny Water Boy on the sideline had the Lions feeling a little better. The real kicker for them though, was having royalty in the house, as Prince Moranion joined their team for the game.

The Broncos received first and made their presence felt quickly with 2 Lions of the pitch within the first moments of the game. However with things slowing after that, they stalled their drive a little which allowed a Wizard who was obviously a fan of the Lions to strike down the ball carrier with a Lightning Bolt. With the ball free, the Lions tried to quickly get it or of the Broncos reach, but stumbled in doing so, and the Broncos got the ball back straight away.

A Rune of Unwilling Flight was next and changed the point of the Broncos attack to the other side of the field, however they were still able to keep control of the ball and score right at the end of the first half.

The Lions spent the second half trying to lure the Broncos into stretching the field, however a well engineered Kingmaker Play allowed the Broncos to secure the ball anyway and score early in the second half to lead 2-1.

The next drive the Lions were able to sneak in a touchdown to get within sight, however as the clock was running down at the start of the next drive, the Broncos started to really hurt the Lions and were nearly unchallenged as they waltzed in for a final TD right on the siren.

Broncos leave their own Trail of Dead
The Kingsbane Broncos have taught their foolish cousins a lesson in Blood Bowl after pushing through a little scare and securing the 1-0 win.

The TTOD came and spent their money from the inducements, bringing out a Deathroller and hiring Flint Churnblade as well as some bribes and wandering apothecaries.

It gave the TTOD some courage and the decided to receive from the kick-off. They started keen as well, pushing their way downfield, however it all came unstuck when Flint couldn't control his chainsaw and took his own head off.

After this the TTOD danced around trying to avoid being hit, but they slowly fell away on the numbers and it wasn't long before the Broncos were able to knock the ball free, collect it up themselves and score right at the end of the half to take the lead.

In the second half, the Deathroller was conveniently ignored by the referee which helped the TTOD believe they were still in with a shot. And after a little stutter by the Broncos, they pushed down some pressure on the Broncos.

The Broncos decided to try pass their way out of trouble, however the TTOD plucked the ball out of the sky, intercepting it and making a break for it.

Being dwarves though, they were too slow to get away and were caught soon after. Whilst they weren't able to score themselves, they were able to stop the Broncos getting another score to keep the game close.
