WEED nearly strangle Thriller Streak
In the final regular season match for Thriller, they saw themselves up against WEED, a team that nearly embarrassed them early in their previous season.

The match started in a Blizzard which was to prove to hang around for the whole match and cause a nuisance for the slower Thriller.

WEED were to prove themselves a bit of a bogey team again for Thriller. Firstly a Time-Out right from the kick off cut into Thriller’s first drive, then a disastrous start with Killer Knocking Out himself, WEED were soon onto the ball and in position to move deep downfield.

Thriller looked to get the ball back straight away, but they must have been feeling ice under their feet from the Blizzard, as they struggled to dodge and were soon both outnumbered and out manoeuvred. WEED controlled the first half and kept any attempts from Thriller to get the ball back completely at bay and scored on the stroke of halftime.

WEED found themselves in position to push for a 2-0 lead in the second half, but Thriller were tenacious. They managed to get the ball off WEED, but had nowhere to go to try hero the ball secure and soon lost the ball again.

The loose ball didn’t go far, staying close by and Thriller again knocked the ball free, but quickly lost it again and this time, WEED didn’t mess about getting their second TD.

With only a quarter of the game to go, Thriller knew they would need to push quickly to have a chance. A touchback from the kickoff gave them a chance to push the ball downfield and set themselves a small cage to protect the ball.

WEED knew that if they didn’t hit the Thriller ball carrier, a certain TD would be scored, so they tried their best, but fell down during the block and Thriller scored straight away to give themselves a sniff.

With only moments left in the game, WEED quickly got the ball from the last kickoff and got themselves downfield with a loose screen to protect them, but it wasn’t enough, with the resulting blitz seeing the ball carrier get knocked down by the sideline, the ball spilling over the sideline and then thrown as far across the field as they could manage.

Thriller then picked up the ball, handed it off to a werewolf and like moments earlier got in range to score, however this time they couldn’t really manage a cage, barely just a screen.

The screen proved enough again though with WEED again knocking themselves down on the blitz. It wasn’t plain sailing for Thriller though, a block and a dodge still needed to get themselves free, but they managed to complete both successfully and again managed to steal a draw at the death.

Thriller all about the Glamour
Round 7 saw a match between 2 of the commissioners of the league with Thriller taking on the Glamazons and commissioner bragging rights on the line.

It was an unfair match up from the start with Thriller being far more experienced than the Glamazons who are in their first season. The Glamazons tried to even the odds by hiring well known star player Morg’n’Thorg.

Thriller received first and went straight after Morg, hurting him on their first crack and leaving him to have to catch up on the result after the game.

Thriller played a very deliberate game from this point and went about grinding down the Glamazons and scoring at halftime to lead 1-0 at the break.

The Glamazons then recorded in the second half and didn’t give up, pushing hard to get themselves back in the match. But the excessive of experience and skill that Thriller possessed meant they weren’t able to get back in it or hold out Thriller who scored late in the game to win 2-0.

Can’t Ring out a Thriller
In probably their easiest game of the season, Thriller have continued to build to a potential finals appearance with a dominant win over the WCL Ringgas.

Thriller has to contend with some well known stars in the form of Deeproot and Grimjaw as they took on the Rinngas, and they relished the challenge.

The Ringgas received first and didn’t take any chances in regards to getting on the score board, taking the opportunity to score right from the opening whistle with a OTTD.

After the opening TD, the Ringgas found themselves on the receiving end of a beat down with Thriller removing players at will and a willingness to foul without prejudice. Thriller removed both stars with fouls and after clobbering the Ringgas, they waited for the half time siren before levelling the score.

With a massive numbers advantage heading into the second half, Thriller moved their game from a bash game to a flash game and went about scoring as frequently as possible. Along the way they still kept up the heavy hits and by the time the final siren sounded, they had run in another 3 TD’s to win the game 4-1 and keep their undefeated streak building.

Thriller snaps Wood like twigs
With half the season over and Thriller starting a little slower than expected, they knew they needed to switch on if they were going to be a chance of reaching finals and gaining another title. In round 5 the faced The Wyldwood Wanderers.

The Wanderers received first in Blizzard conditions, but in typical Wood Elf fashion, they looked to dance and move fast for a quick lead. However, an effective display from their early blocking left Thriller in a position to get to the ball carrier straight away.

After a few rounds of seeing the ball change hands multiple times slowed the progress of the Wanderers and gave Thriller a chance to bunch them up. Thriller took full advantage of the situation and punished the Wanderers removing players almost at will.

The Wanderers still didn’t give up the fight and made Thriller wrestle for the ball continually through the first half until Thriller were able to finally secure the ball and score on the halftime siren.

In the second half, Thriller were in an advantageous position with a big numbers advantage and looked to score quickly to give themselves a chance to rack up a big score. They scored midway through the half and readied quickly to kick off to the Wanderers again.

Piling on the pressure again, Thriller were able to easily turn the ball over again and then just before the final siren sounded, they scored a 3rd TD, having left a trail of 10 injured Wanderers in their wake and took a big step towards getting their season back on track.
