Demolishers get Cane'd
The Queensland Cane Toads have got themselves back on the winners sheet after turning around a tough first half to win 2-1 against the Dark Iron Demolishers.

Prior to the game, the Demolishers announced a Promo Tour, and with a lot of fans turning up, they figured Everyone's an Expert and that using Skrot's Sticky Slop on one of the Bull Centaurs would be helpful. As well as getting some Extra Training and hiring the services of a Halfling Masterchef, the Demolishers were looking to be in a good place.

The Demolishers pushed hard into the Cane Toads side of the field early, but soon found themselves getting blitzed and turned over quickly, the Cane Toads took a moment to gather themselves and pushed for a breakaway, however the moments pause confused the newly hired Gordon Phallus who failed with a potentially helpful Block, and the Cane Toads were soon swamped and relinquished the ball back to the Demolishers who scored quickly.

The Cane Toads tried to get themselves into position to score, and despite being Blitzed from the kick-off they were able to get close, however each time a player got into position to score, the Demolishers kept knocking them down and denying the levelling score. This was typical of the first half were the Demolishers could do no wrong.

To start the second half the Cane Toads knew they needed to score quickly to give themselves a chance of winning the game, and after streaming a number of players downfield, they were able to score by turn 2.

From the next kick-ff their was a Pitch Invasion and it was also the start of the luck turning for the Demolishers. The Demolishers tried to advance their ball into the Cane Toad's backfield, however a failed GFI, left the Cane Toads in with the chance to get around the ball, which after a couple of other failed attempts to protect the ball from the Demolishers, they were able to secure it and put themselves into a position to run the clock down.

As the game drew to a close, it was obvious the the Spiked Sports Drink organised for one of the Bull Centaurs was starting to take effect, so the Cane Toads felt like they had time for a Quick Flick, however they did it poorly, so had to work for the Quick Save to try protect the ball.

Both catches were dropped and the Demolishers saw a chance to secure the ball themselves and potentially save the game, however they were quickly blocked to the ground and the Cane Toads were able to secure the ball themselves and secure the win just prior to the siren sounding.

The game of 2 halves turned out to favour the Cane Toads more as their second half run was fantastic.

Queensland spirit shows against NSW
The Queensland Cane Toads have shown the typical Queenslander state of origin spirit after recovering from a bad start which saw them down 2-0 through the first half to finally level the game at the end for a 2-2 draw.

The Cane Toads were really out of sync early and despite forcing the ball free early when kicking to the Chokeroaches, they were unable to cash in and meekly allowed them to score.

When they received the ball themselves it appeared that a few Cane Toad didn't have the stomach for the game as they were being removed from the pitch and stuttered in attack as well, which despite some strong scrambling, they were still unable to stop the Chokeroaches scoring their second TD.

As the first half drew to a close though, the Cane Toads finally started to show some spirit and were able to get a TD to get themselves back into the match and trail 2-1 at the half.

In the second half it appeared again that the Cane Toads were going to fold, however after moving the ball deep into the Chokeroaches backfield, they started to hit harder and gain a small numbers advantage over them.

Due to the lateness of getting the advantage, and it only being slight, the Cane Toads turned their attention to the possibility of saving some energy for some potential overtime. The Cane Toads levelled the scores with seconds left on the clock and the Chokeroaches had no time to get back ahead.

When the Cane Toads offered overtime to the Chokeroaches, it was clear they knew they would struggle after the Queensland resurgence, so they declined and the match was left at a draw.

Cane Toads struggle to Pony up
The Queensland Cane Toads have stumbled on their way to a loss to the Prancing Ponies, struggling to use the ball in the 3-1 match.

After receiving first and comfortably retrieving the ball from a High Kick, the Cane Toads decided pushing the ball up field and scoring quicklywas the move.

However a failed catch saw the Cane Toads on the back foot. The Ponies raced away with the ball, however an intercept saw the Cane Toads get the ball back. Again a failed catch allowed the Ponies to surround the ball and slow the Cane Toads.

The Cane Toads managed to get the ball free, but without protection, they were soon caught and the Ponies used their superior speed to score a TD right on the siren of half-time.

The second half saw the Ponies pushed hard to extend their lead which they were able to do quickly with a numbers advantage.

The Cane Toads recovered after the second TD and with an All-Out Blitz they were able to move the ball downfield and get on the scored whilst still struggling with the ball at times.

With little time left on the clock, despite a Team Talk, some failed leaps meant the Cane Toads were not able to come up with a telling play to get the ball back or even get in range to equalise.

A Quick Flick from the Ponies allowed them to push the ball way downfield and sore another TD.

A tough loss for the Cane Toads, however with a traditional grudge match against their foes from South of the border, the Cane Toads are in training to deliver a better performance.

Toads Raid further South of the River
The Queensland Cane Toads have conducted a lightning raid to steal a win against a tough opponent in the Guard and Mighty Blow heavy team, the South River Raiders, finishing the game 2-1 winners.

The Cane Toads started with some Bad Habits which lead to a Blitz against them as they received the ball first. This caused the Cane Toads to stutter a little out of the blocks and took a little longer to make the break they intended early on.

Rakarth's Curse of Petty Spite against one of the Raiders runners also saw the Raiders stutter a little as well and taking longer to get fully into the game.

However after seeing the Raiders push hard down one flank to get at the ball carrier, the Cane Toads pushed themselves hard down the other, leaping madly away to try open up as much ground as possible. And with a Hail Mary Pass they were able to get the ball well away, recover it again and get the early lead.

When kicking later in the half, the Cane Toads went on the offensive quickly, using what numbers they still had whilst they had them and managed to turn over the Raiders and again make a break for it.

When the Mine laid by the Raiders was fairly ineffectual, the Cane Toads were again able to keep well away from the Raiders and dragged out the half before scoring and leading 2-0 at the break.

In the second half the Raiders had a much easier tonne of pushing down field, starting to make it count in regards to their numbers advantage. However with constant snipes at their ball carrier, it wasn't quick going for them, meaning it took a little while to score.

Receiving late in the game, the Cane Toads found the ball kicked very deep, which suited them as they had every intention of staying as far away from the Raiders as possible.

As they final turns closed, the Raiders removed all the scoring options that the Cane Toads had sent down field whilst only a small contingent chased the actual ball carrier.

As soon as the Raiders got close to within range of the ball carrier though, it was evident that one of the Raiders must have fallen on bad times and been the target of some Blackmail, as he blitzed his own teammate and ran towards the sideline faster than his little legs could take him, failing down along the sideline and ensuring the Raiders couldn't reach the ball carrier or level the game.

"Wins'R'Us" Cane Toads
The Queensland Cane Toads have started the new season with a hard fought win against a team they had their worst game against last season, Orkz'R'Us, coming away with a score of 2-1 in the Pouring Rain.

The Queensland fans turned out in force and witnessed their favourite team make a strong start, injuring a Goblin and pushing quickly for the opening TD after a Quick Snap and surviving a Suicide Blitz by the Orkz.

This got the Queensland fans so excited a Riot broke out which saw the ref reset the clock and giving the Orkz more time.

The Cane Toads tried numerous times and got lots of hits against the Orkz ball carrier, however they couldn't keep the ball free. The Orkz nearly found themselves in the open and free to score, however Wally sprinted hard into the backfield and got a Diving Tackle on the Orkz which meant the Cane Toads headed into half time leading 1-0.

In the second half the Orkz made a slow advance and again the Cane Toads got into position to make sombre strong hits, however the Orkz started hitting even harder, removing a few Cane Toads from the field and equalising shortly after.

From the next kick the Orkz belted the leather of the ball, sending it long and Blitzing right after it, however with the touchback ensuing, the Cane Toads were able the send the ball forward quickly moving deep into the Orkz backfield.

A failed Dodge gave the Cane Toads the opening they needed to score and they took the lead again, once again to the delight of the fans who again went into a Riot.

With just enough time on the clock to push for a draw, the Orkz went deep on both flanks, however and All- Out Blitz by the Cane Toads choked up their path and they were unable to equalise late.

Even Trust with Queensland
The Queensland Cane Toads have kept their playoff hopes on life support after having time run out unexpectedly against In Asuryan We Trust which meant the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

The Cane Toads started the game by receiving and took a steady approach to their advance after killing the Treeman straight away (he was revived by the apothecary). With a steady hand they managed to manoeuvre to a safe part of the field and and try to dwindle down the Trust even further. As the Trust got closer the Cane Toads found themselves in a position next to a Trust player which resulted in the Cane Toads being forced to score giving the Trust a chance to score in the first half themselves.

When the Trust got the ball themselves, they quickly pushed downfield and despite the Cane Toads trying to man everyone up, like a good Wood Elf, the Trust were able to sneak a player free and score an equalising TD to enter the half time break level.

In the second half it was the Trust who received, however with time up their sleeve, the Cane Toads were able to mount a lot of pressure on the Trust, and eventually get the ball free and deep into the back field. From here, the Cane Toads were quickly set upon and had enough pressure on them that when the ball was loose, they were unable to regather which saw the ball into the crowd and thrown back to the earlier scrum.

It was the Trust that were able to clear the scrum this time, however the anticipated pass was intercepted by the Cane Toads who were able to then get clear themselves and score the go ahead TD.

With a quarter of the game remaining, the Trust again pushed for the quick TD and had fortune shine on them as they were able to doge away from some Blitzers and get the equalising TD in short time. It almost appeared that the Cane Toads were going to have enough time themselves for a last effort push, however with some Off Colour Chants going on in the background, it appeared to rattle both the Cane Toads, who lost their last re-roll, and the ref who let the clock keep rolling and denied the Cane Toads the time to be able to go for the game winning score.

Toads swim through the River
The Queensland Cane Toads have finally managed a win against divisional opponents after surviving the onslaught and sneaking in for a score against the South River Raiders.

The Cane Toads received first and found themselves down on numbers quickly against the Raiders. The Cane Toads also found themselves losing the ball to the ground in a variety of situations that don't usually occur. Once the catch in the backfield was felled unexpectedly, but managed to regather without any Raider pressure before an errant Hail Mary Pass saw the ball in the middle of the field and easily in reach of the Raiders.

The Cane Toads didn't waste time though and with a number of players already in the Raiders backfield, they were able to blitz the ball carrier, pick up the ball and dodge away for the opening score of the game.

For the rest of the half it was a hard slog for the Cane Toads who never ceased to harass the Raiders and stop them from pushing too deep and scoring before the half.

Come the second half, the Cane Toads were still down on numbers and tried to set themselves up for a stiff defence. As the Raiders pushed into their lines, the Cane Toads had a plan in mind to secure the ball.

A Kingmaker Play unfolded from here and was enough for the Cane Toads to secure the ball for themselves and make some space.

It wasn't enough space to make a clean break, however it was enough to slow the Raiders down so that they couldn't get within scoring range by the end of the half which left the Cane Toads with the 1-0 win.

Cane Toads are Wild in Perth
The Queensland Cane Toads have continued their trend of being able to dominate non-divisional opponents with a solid 4-0 rout of the Perth Wildrats.

The Wildrats had a smaller crowd attend, but they were some Rowdy Fans which had the Cane Toads steering clear of the sideline as much as possible.

The Wildrats received first and looked like they were going to ignore the ball early, however it was a deceptive play as a player with Catcher's Instincts tracked back with the ball and caught it.

With the ball in hand the Wildrats took a steady approach and feinted one side before returning back to the other, however the Cane Toads were prepared for this and were able to turnover the ball as the Wildrats tried to make a break.

Once in the open, the Cane Toads scored quickly to take the lead. From the next drive the Rat Ogre showed he wasn't going to be unprepared, sticking in his Stanley's Cup to give him extra protection.

Again the Wildrats tried to move the ball downfield, however they had no answer for the Cane Toads leaping ability which allowed them to turnover the ball again and score before halftime for the 2-0 lead.

In the second half, the Cane Toads received and thanks to a High Kick, caught the ball easily and moved deep into the backfield for safety, the rest of the players pushed hard to present options.

Once the play started to develop, the Cane Toads pushed further forward and easily passed the ball away for another TD to lead 3-0.

From here, the Cane Toads again kicked to the Wildrats and with some Brilliant Coaching were able to give themselves another edge to possibly score again.

The Cane Toads pushed hard and decided the time was right to try retrieve the ball again. A Kingmaker Play was called and the Cane Toads recovered the ball again.

The Wildrats were not laying down though and were able to turnover the ball themselves, however and All Out Blitz in the final moments of the game gave the Cane Toads the impetus they needed to cross the line again and score in the final moments.

Next up for the Cane Toads is another Divisional match where they have struggled all season long.

"Failz R Us" Cane Toads
The Queensland Cane Toads again failed to impress in a game against a division rival, OrkZ R Us, with the most dismal performance of their entire season.

The Cane Toads received and had the ball land in their hands from the kick-off and found it only in their hands for a little while. From the outset, the Cane Toads seemed to be cursed with every action leading to a pathetic end.

Throughout the first half, the Cane Toads were unable to stall, let alone stop the OrkZ R Us and had every turn end with a forced turnover, they fell behind and went into halftime at 2-0 down.

In the second half, the Cane Toads had their fortune turn slightly, but not drastically. They managed to turnover the ball from the OrkZ R Us a couple of times, and had a couple of turns end without a forced turnover.

The Cane Toads managed to somehow score a catch up TD. Bu when the opportunity to get in range for a draw, they once again fell in failing habits and had another turnover before being able to really mount the pressure.

The Cane Toads will be hoping for a better team performance in their next game.

Cane Toads hopping around like Lunatics
The Queensland Cane Toads have found themselves in the winners circle again after getting a 3-0 win over the Dark Elf Lunatics.

The game started with much fan fare in favour of the Lunatics who were on a Promo Tour. The Cane Toads fans were that keen on the fan fare though, so started an Off-Colour Chant to try discourage the Lunatics.

The game started with the Lunatics receiving, and the Cane Toads leaving their newly hired star player Helmut Wolff on the bench.

The Lunatics tried to push down both wings against the Cane Toads, but the Cane Toads are well coached and started to pick off the Lunatics one by one, getting them off the pitch either by pushing them into the crowd or Knocking them out.

Once the Cane Toads were able to get a numbers advantage they were able to recover the ball from the Lunatics. With ball in hand a a numbers advantage, the Cane Toads worked down the clock with the plan of having Helmut Wolff do even more damage in the second half.

With a 1-0 lead at halftime, the Endurance Training of the Cane Toads paid off allowing them to start with 11 players in line with the Lunatics who also had 11 players after all their Knocked Out players returned, the only one not returning was a Blitzer who was caught fouling.

The Cane Toads started hitting hard though in the second half though, Knocking Out 4 Lunatics within the first 2 turns with some casualties following shortly after.

With a huge numbers advantage developing, the Cane Toads tried to work on some of the skills they practiced in training to increase their experience. The Lunatics got inpatient with this though and forced the Cane Toads to score by pushing them into the endzone, meaning the Cane Toads led 2-0.

The Lunatics weren't able to recover numbers wise. Despite pushing hard in the dying moments for a consoling TD, it was the Cane Toads again who were able to knock the ball carrier into the crowd where there was obviously some Cane Toads fans. Not only did they injure the player pushed into them, they threw the ball into a favorable position for the Cane Toads who recovered the ball and scored a final TD.

Next up for the Cane Toads is a high armoured Orc team.

Is the Origin tide turning
The Queensland Cane Toads played their arch rivals in the NSW Cockroaches and were unable to keep the Queensland pride in tact.

A 2-1 loss was all that the Cane Toads could manage after nearly keeping it to a draw, but just didn't have the players late to hold the Cockroaches out.

The Cane Toads have struggled throughout the season by not hurting their opponents and this game was no different, however the addition of Gordon Phallus meant the Cane Toads have finally started to hurt some opponents.

The Cane Toads however did start to move the ball a bit better through this match and are looking to future matches and getting themselves back into the season.

Queensland Cane the Zeplins
The Queensland Cane Toads have recovered from their round 1 loss to post their first win against Zifin's Lead Zeplins.

The Cane Toads hired a mercenary Kroxigor for the match but were disappointed with his efforts. The Zeplins had the early advantages with a crowd in their favour and receiving the ball. They took advantage of the situation and proceeded to move along with the typical slow Dwarf grind, removing 3 Cane Toads for the rest of the match, including the Kroxigor who was the play toy for the Deathroller.

However about half way through the first half, the Cane Toads were able to blitz the ball carrier into the crowd and have it pop up conveniently in their backfield.

The Cane Toads used their superior speed and leaping abilities to flood downfield away from the Zeplins. With a reasonable time still on the clock for the Zeplins to potentially mount a scoring assault in the first half, the Cane Toads decided to try weather the wrath of the Deathroller a little longer before scoring right on the buzzer.

Still down the 3 players, the Cane Toads spent the early stages of the second half focusing all their efforts down one side of the field. With such a concentrated effort the Cane Toads were able to score fairly quickly in the second half to lead 2-0.

The Zeplins again received and tried to push down field in a cage, however their cage wasn't very secure and the Cane Toads were able to leap over the top and blitz the ball free. Once free the Cane Toads sent the ball to an inaccurate pass downfield.

In the final stages the Cane Toads found a Burst Of Speed to get themselves in range for a quick dump-off despite the close attention of a Troll Slayer to score another TD and secure the 3-0 win.

Cane Toads get Blitzed
The Queensland Cane Toads have started their season in shocking fashion against the Baldivis Blitzerz and suffered a 2-0 loss as well as losing a number of players before their next match.

The Toads started off with bad habits and it showed when they were on the field as they weren't able to execute any plans and found themselves on the ground more than in the air.

The Bltizers pounded the Toads into the ground and took advantage of the numbers advantage they got early and left it until late in the first half before scoring.

The Toads had no time to try and score themselves in the first half, so settled for a quick completion, after using a Magic Sponge to get Wally Knew-Us back into the match.

The second half saw the Toads still behind numbers wise, however they pushed hard and managed to find themselves with the ball in the Blitzerz backfield. About halfway through the half they were in a position to score, however a dropped hand-off meant the ball was dropped out of bounds and sent back upfield where all the Blitzerz were waiting.

Despite a desperate effort with Knuckledusters, the Toads were able to get the ball loose, however couldn't manage the pass to even the score, instead fumbling the ball.

With the numbers advantage still obvious, the Blitzerz were able to recover the ball and send it long for a second TD of their own sealing their maiden victory and remaining unscathed.
